The lace on the Marta is cut-work rather than printed or embroidered on: the flowers are open shapes with the ground cut away between them, so the panel across the bodice shows light through it and keeps its outline instead of blurring into the fabric. It sits under a sheer mesh yoke, repeats down the long sheer sleeves, and stops at a defined waist seam where the knee length tulle skirt is gathered in.
