How to Tie a Bow Tie: A Step-by-Step Guide
Many of our bow ties come pre-tied for convenience. However, if you have a self-tie bow tie, here is a simple guide to tying the perfect knot
- Start: Place the bow tie around the neck, with one end (A) about 1.5 inches longer than the other (B).
- Cross: Cross the longer end (A) over the shorter end (B).
- Loop: Bring end (A) up and under the loop at the neck.
- Form the Bow: Take end (B) and fold it in front to create the front half of the bow shape.
- Drape: Bring end (A) straight down over the middle of the bow shape you just made.
- Pinch & Push: Fold end (A) and push it through the small loop you created behind the bow.
- Adjust: Gently pull on the folded "wings" of the bow to tighten the knot and adjust until it is symmetrical.
